Episode Summary & Review
Summary
While the USS Enterprise heads towards a secret rendezvous, a friend’s upcoming wedding compounds Data’s confusion about the nuances of human feelings.
Our Take
A quiet, low-stakes hour told entirely through Data’s log entries, and the format works beautifully. Brent Spiner’s dry narration gives even the routine scenes a light comic touch, and the episode sneaks in real emotion without getting sappy. The Vulcan subplot lands less effectively, but this is still one of the more charming and rewatchable episodes of season four.
