Our Take
This one lives or dies on Marina Sirtis, and she mostly delivers, giving Troi’s identity crisis real frustration instead of just moping. The space anomaly plot is thin and the two threads never quite connect, but the character work carries the hour. It’s a solid midseason episode that finally gives the counselor something meaty to do, worth watching once.
