The Vengeance Factor

Episode Summary & Review

Summary

Picard offers to mediate a dispute between a peaceful society and a renegade clan that steals to live.

Our Take

A middling episode that coasts on atmosphere more than story. The Gatherer camps have a nice grungy feel and the ending lands with real weight when Riker has to fire, but getting there means a lot of dry negotiation scenes and a romance subplot that never convinces. Fine background viewing, just don’t expect much tension until the last few minutes.
