Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Saru returns to help the U.S.S. Discovery uncover the mystery of an unusually destructive new force. As Burnham leads the crew, she must also find a way to help Book cope with an unimaginable loss.
Our Take
A solid setup hour that leans on character over action, with Book’s grief getting real room to breathe alongside some nicely tense shuttle work at the anomaly’s edge. The science mystery still feels vague, and the emotional beats occasionally overplay their hand, but Saru’s return adds welcome warmth. Worth your time if you’re already invested in the season.
