Summary
While Captain Burnham leads an away mission to a planet that was once home to the aliens responsible for the DMA, Book and Tarka secretly infiltrate the U.S.S. Discovery.
Our Take
A slower, moodier hour that finally gives the DMA aliens some texture, even if the answers raise more questions than it resolves. The planet stuff looks great and Burnham gets a few quiet moments that land. Book and Tarka’s side mission is thinner and mostly exists to set up the finale. Worth watching, but it’s connective tissue more than a standout.
