Episode Summary & Review
Summary
After discovering a colony in the Gamma Quadrant, Dax and Odo investigate the mysterious disappearance of several colonists. Back on the station Vedek Bareil visits Kira, and Jake gets a job with Chief O’Brien.
Our Take
The A-plot lands nicely once the mystery kicks in, giving Odo and Dax a decent pairing and a twist that actually recontextualizes things without feeling cheap. The B-stories are thinner, with the Bareil romance moving slowly and Jake’s storyline mostly filler. A solid mid-tier hour that coasts on its central puzzle, worth a watch if you’re already along for the season.
