Summary
Odo, the station’s mysterious, gruff and yet incredibly fair shape shifter Constable, falls under suspicion for a Bajoran’s baffling murder — and xenophobic hatred rears its ugly head in the station’s rush to judgment.
Our Take
A decent early stab at a murder mystery that’s really more interested in Odo as a character, and René Auberjonois makes the most of it. The mob scenes get preachy and the actual investigation resolves too neatly, but the world-building stuff, especially Keiko’s school, lands well. Worth watching for Odo alone, even if the mystery itself is thin.
