Summary
A glimpse of the wormhole and Gamma Quadrant turns tragic, when a runabout carrying Kai Opaka, Sisko, Bashir, and Kira crashes on a planet of eternal war, where it is impossible for the combatants to die.
Our Take
A solid midseason episode that leans hard into its grim premise, with the endless-war concept giving Kira some of her best material yet as she confronts what the Occupation made of her. The kill-and-revive mechanic is genuinely unsettling, though the warring factions themselves are thinly drawn. Worth watching for Opaka’s storyline alone, which quietly sets up bigger things.
