Summary
Professor Hickey reveals that his estranged son Hank did not invite him to his grandson’s birthday. The group decides to help father and son reunite through a rousing game of “Dungeons and Dragons.”
Our Take
The sequel to the show’s beloved D&D episode can’t quite recapture that magic, mostly because the emotional stakes feel more forced this time around. Still, Jonathan Banks gets some genuinely moving material as Hickey, and the game mechanics are clever enough to keep things fun. A solid hour that coasts on goodwill rather than earning it, but Community coasting is still pretty watchable.
