Summary
Archer is shocked to learn that his mother is dating Archer’s idol/hero/man crush, Burt Reynolds.
Our Take
Burt Reynolds playing himself is somehow the perfect guest star for this show, and he commits to the bit completely, which makes all the difference. The pacing is tight, the banter is sharp, and the running gags actually land instead of wearing out. It’s a funny, confident half hour that earns the high rating without breaking a sweat.
