Our Review
The late Disney Afternoon’s sleeper, a London-set comedy about a new litter of puppies and their junkyard friends that is better than any cartoon extension of a beloved film has any right to be. The writing is dry, the characters are generous, and the ensemble is worth caring about beyond the title.
The dognapper-villain plots have more teeth than expected, the art department clearly enjoyed the London location work, and the episode pacing respects short attention spans without dumbing the jokes down. It quietly defined a look Disney recycled for a decade.
Sixty five short episodes, easy to sample. Our score: 6/10. The comfort watch of the late block, and the puppies are doing fine.
