With the World Cup fever reaching boiling point the Top Gear team bring us an epic car football contest with Toyota Aygos pitted against the VW Foxes…from Brazil! James May (aka Captain Slow) receives a crash course in how to drive fast from Formula One legend Sir Jackie Stewart and the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car is actor Sir Michael Gambon.
Our Take
The car football match is exactly the kind of daft spectacle this show does best, with tiny Aygos bouncing off each other in genuinely funny chaos. But the real treat is James May being coached by Jackie Stewart, whose calm teaching style makes for surprisingly compelling TV. Gambon’s lap is a nice bonus. A fun, easy hour well worth your time.
