Summary
Nancy and Jonathan follow a lead, Steve and Robin sign on to a secret mission, and Max and Eleven go shopping. A rattled Billy has troubling visions.
Our Take
The mall stuff mostly carries this one. Steve and Robin cracking the secret Russian code is genuinely fun, and Eleven’s shopping montage with Max gives the season its new friendship pairing. Billy’s storyline gets appropriately creepy, though Nancy and Jonathan’s subplot still feels like a chore. A light, setup-heavy hour that coasts on charm.
