Summary
Caught in Knives’ trap, Vash is dropped into a giant pool. There, Knives attacks the precious memories that helped Vash maintain his love towards humanity. While Vash and Knives clash in this metaphysical realm, Meryl witnesses the astonishing physical manifestations.
Our Take
This is a heavy, mostly internal hour, and it mostly works. The brothers’ mental sparring gives the series room to explain their rift without dragging too badly, though the abstract visuals occasionally feel like padding. Meryl’s viewpoint scenes add a nice grounding contrast to all the dreamlike chaos. Worth watching if you’ve come this far, and the ending sets up the finale well.
