Summary
Meryl and Roberto are taken to JuLai, the Third City, by Zazie. There, they learn why and how the human race ended up on this planet, No Man’s Land. They also see Conrad, the former leader of the Sinners research group, who explains his goals. Meanwhile, Vash and Wolfwood reach the top floor of the JuLai Tower, where Knives awaits.
Our Take
A heavy lore episode that finally lays out the planet’s history, and it mostly lands. The exposition with Conrad is a lot to absorb, but the reveal about humanity’s arrival reframes everything we’ve seen so far. The Vash and Knives confrontation at the top of the tower gives it real weight. Worth your time, even if you’ll want to rewatch parts.
