A 1950s Rio-set drama following Malu, a woman who opens a bossa nova club in a man’s world, and the music that changes everyone who passes through it. Gorgeous period design and a soundtrack that justifies the show by itself.
The soapy plotting runs hot and cold, but the setting is so fresh and the music so good that the flaws wash out. A pleasant, sunlit binge.
