Summary
Emerson’s mom comes to town just in time to help the team investigate the murder of an employee at a professional friendship service business. Chuck and Olive move in together after Olive comes back, but how long will it last?
Our Take
The mystery itself is pretty thin this week, but the Emerson material carries the hour, and Debra Mooney plays off Chi McBride better than you’d expect. The Olive and Chuck subplot is sweet if a bit slight. A middling episode saved by its character beats, worth watching for fans but skippable if you’re behind.
