A washed 90s sitcom star who is a horse tries to get his career back and instead unravels, taking the audience somewhere no cartoon has gone: an honest portrait of depression, addiction, and the fear that you are the problem. It is also one of the funniest shows ever made, which makes the gut punches land twice as hard.
Season three’s underwater episode and season six’s finale are all time great television. The show that proved animation could go anywhere. It went everywhere.
