Our Review
The Early Word: Frances Neagley finally gets her own show. Maria Sten’s ex military investigator was always the fan favorite part of Reacher, the competent, coffee-averse fixer who could carry a season on her own, and Prime Video agreed: this spinoff sends her into Chicago on a personal case that Reacher fans have been waiting to see explored.
What we know so far: it premieres September 16, 2026, right as Reacher’s fourth season wraps, with eight episodes. The creative team carries over from the mothership, which is the best sign possible: Reacher’s standalone season structure is exactly what a Neagley mystery should inherit.
The question every spinoff faces: can it stand alone without the big man? Neagley’s character has the backstory and the grit to say yes, and the casting of Sten has never been the weak link in anything she has done. We are optimistic.
Full review after the premiere. Our anticipation: 7.5/10. Premieres Sept 16, 2026 on Prime Video.
