Summary
On the eve of battle, Marceline’s archenemy comes to her with a strange proposal.
Our Take
This one slows things down right when you’d expect a buildup, and mostly it works. The Vampire King’s proposal gives Marceline something meatier to react to than another fight, and their scenes together have real tension. Not much plot movement, but the character work carries it. Worth your time if you’ve been enjoying the miniseries so far.
