Our Review
The Belcher family runs a burger restaurant that never quite succeeds, and the show around them is the warmest thing in adult animation. Where its peers went for edge, Bob’s Burgers went for heart: a family that genuinely likes each other, jokes that come from character instead of shock, and Kristen Schaal’s Louise as one of the great animated characters of the century.
The first season is finding its feet (the animation was famously rough), then it locks in and becomes the most reliable comfort watch on this list. Linda’s enthusiasm, Gene’s noise, Tina’s erotic friend fiction: it all sounds strange described and feels like home watched. Episodes stand alone, so you can drop in anywhere after season 2.
Our take: 8.5/10. The show you put on when you want to feel better, and it works every single time.
