Episode Summary & Review
Summary
In the season four finale, the DMA approaches Earth and Ni’Var. With evacuations underway, Burnham and the team aboard the U.S.S. Discovery must find a way to communicate and connect with a species far different from their own before time runs out.
Our Take
The finale swaps action for diplomacy, which mostly works thanks to some genuinely alien worldbuilding and a few emotional payoffs that land. The pacing sags in the middle when everyone stops to give speeches, and the resolution feels a bit too tidy for a season this heavy. Still a satisfying close, even if it won’t stick with you long.
