Summary
After months spent reconnecting the Federation with distant worlds, Captain Michael Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery are sent to assist a damaged space station, a seemingly routine mission that reveals the existence of a terrifying new threat.
Our Take
A solid season opener that spends a lot of time re-establishing where everyone stands, which is fine if you like these characters but slow if you don’t. The new anomaly threat lands with real weight in the final stretch, and the visuals remain gorgeous. Book and Burnham’s relationship gets the most attention, sometimes more than it needs. Worth a watch, just be ready for a leisurely pace.
