Summary
Michael finds out that Oscar is gay after Oscar files a complaint when Michael uses a homosexual slur.
Our Take
A rough premise that the show somehow lands. Michael’s cluelessness could easily tip into mean-spirited territory, but Steve Carell plays the ignorance so sincerely that the cringe stays funny instead of ugly. The Oscar reveal and that infamous kiss make for one of the more uncomfortable half hours the show ever attempted, and it mostly earns it. Worth your time, even if you watch through your fingers.
