Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Mariah tries to rebuild her reputation by rebuilding her relationship with her daughter; Luke and Shades lose their tempers; Claire worries about Luke.
Our Take
A slower, talkier hour that spends most of its time setting up pieces for later. Alfre Woodard does strong work in the mother-daughter scenes, but the Luke material drags, and his fight with Shades feels more like plot obligation than earned conflict. Fine if you’re invested in Mariah’s arc, otherwise a bit of a patience test.
