Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Luke tries to keep a low profile and pay his bills by working two jobs. However, he gets into trouble anyway when he has an one nighter with a police detective, who is investigating an arms deal that local crime lord Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes was engineering.
Our Take
This is a slow-burn setup hour that spends most of its time establishing Harlem and Luke’s quiet routine. Mike Colter has real presence and Cottonmouth makes a solid first impression, but the pacing drags in the middle stretch and the plot moves in fits and starts. Worth watching for the atmosphere and character work, just don’t expect much momentum yet.
