Episode Summary & Review

Summary

Lone wolf warrior Mizu gets stuck with an unexpected travel companion, while Princess Akemi grasps for a way to control her future.

Our Take

A grim, gorgeous opener that builds its world through violence and silence rather than exposition. The animation is stunning in the fight scenes, but the quieter character beats land just as hard, and Mizu’s barely contained rage gives everything a real edge. It moves fast for a pilot and earns its runtime. Worth starting tonight.
