Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are thrust backward in time and stranded in 1931 New York City. With the brand new Zephyr set to time jump at any moment, the team must hurry to find out exactly what happened. If they fail, it would mean disaster for the past, present and future of the world.
Our Take
A fun if slightly wobbly season opener that leans hard into its 1931 setting, complete with period costumes and a Chronicom villain with a decent gimmick. The time travel mechanics get hand-waved more than explained, and the pacing stalls whenever the team splits up to argue logistics. Still, the cast slips back into their rhythms easily, and the hook for the season lands well enough to keep you curious.
