Summary
The rescue of a damaged transport prompts the Denobulan Phlox to confront his prejudices when he treats an Antaran, whose people are sworn enemies of Phlox’s. Three other Denobulans are holed up in an underground cave, where Trip, Reed, and Mayweather are dispatched to retrieve them when militants take over a planet.
Our Take
The Phlox storyline is the whole reason to watch here, and it mostly lands, even if the reconciliation happens a bit too easily for people carrying generations of hatred. The cave rescue with Trip and Reed feels like filler by comparison, competent but forgettable. A decent character episode that plays it safer than its subject deserves, but John Billingsley makes it worth sitting through.
