Summary
Kim confronts life and death issues when he’s held against his will by an alien race.
Our Take
Emanations leans on Harry Kim way too early in the series, and Garrett Wang doesn’t quite have the range yet to carry an hour about mortality and the afterlife. Still, the ideas are interesting and the alien culture feels properly alien, which counts for something. A middling but thoughtful episode worth a watch if you like Trek doing philosophy.
