Episode Summary & Review
Summary
While hosting her first Trill initiate, Dax discovers a tiny, expanding protouniverse that threatens to destroy the entire Bajoran system.
Our Take
A decent Dax spotlight that leans on her easygoing charm more than real stakes. The initiate storyline works because Terry Farrell actually gets to mentor someone for once, though the kid is written as a bit of a blank. The protouniverse stuff is thin sci-fi window dressing that resolves too neatly. Enjoyable enough for character fans, but it’s a middle-of-the-road hour you won’t think about afterward.
