Episode Summary & Review
Summary
On a secret mission to a troubled planet, Riker questions his mental stability after experiencing a series of confusing vignettes.
Our Take
A trippy head trip that mostly works thanks to Frakes selling every layer of confusion. The shifting between reality and delusion gets a bit repetitive in the middle stretch, but the mounting dread keeps you guessing, and the asylum setting is genuinely unsettling for TNG. Not a top-tier episode, but an ambitious one that earns its runtime.
