Episode Summary & Review
Summary
The death of a pioneering Ferengi scientist ebroils Dr. Crusher in a mystery that may end her Starfleet career.
Our Take
A pulpy murder mystery that feels more like an episode of a cop show than Star Trek, saved mostly by Gates McFadden committing fully to the material. The framing device with Guinan is clunky and the solution to the whodunit lands with a shrug, but Crusher going rogue and risking her career gives it some real stakes. A decent middle-tier hour, nothing more.
