Episode Summary & Review
Summary
When a Starfleet ship crashes inside a thick, black cloud, Data attempts to coax the traumatised young sole survivor into revealing what exactly happened.
Our Take
A quieter, more sentimental hour that leans on Data’s innocence and one child actor’s performance, which is mostly up to the task. The mystery of the crashed ship takes a backseat to the emotional stuff, and the pacing drags whenever the plot machinery kicks back in. It’s touching in spots without ever being gripping. Worth a watch if you’re in a gentle mood, but skippable.
