Summary
When a secret Federation observation post is accidentally revealed, a primitive culture ends up worshiping Picard as a god and prepares to sacrifice Troi to appease him.
Our Take
A surprisingly thoughtful hour that takes Prime Directive ideas seriously instead of just name-dropping them. Patrick Stewart gets some of his best material this season as Picard wrestles with the damage well-meaning observers can do, and the Mintakan leader makes the religious dilemma feel genuinely sad rather than preachy. It drags a bit in the middle hunt sequences, but the ending lands well. Worth your time.
