Summary
Kirk is trapped on a disintegrating star ship and drifts between dimensions while the Tholian’s create a energy web around the Enterprise to prevent them from escaping.
Our Take
A genuinely tense hour with one of the series’ best alien designs, even if the Tholians only show up briefly. The spooky derelict ship opening sets a great mood, and Spock and McCoy arguing over command feels earned rather than forced. The interdimensional stuff gets a bit vague toward the end, but the atmosphere carries it. Worth your time.
