Summary
Batman encounters the Scarecrow and attempts to foil his scheme to burn down Gotham University, but in the process is exposed to the Scarecrow’s fear gas, and is forced to face his own guilt over the death of his parents.
Our Take
This one leans hard on Batman’s inner life, which gives it more weight than your average villain-of-the-week episode. The fear toxin sequences look great and the Scarecrow makes a solid debut, but the university plot itself is pretty thin stuff. Worth watching for the character work, even if the story around it feels like filler.
