South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid

The direct sequel three weeks later sends the adult boys back in time to stop the pandemic before it starts, and the results split into two tones that mostly fuse. The future half is a bleak joke about how little anyone learned, while the past half gets to reunite the kids and ask the show's oldest question in a new way: what if Cartman had grown up kind? The answer is the most sincere thing South Park has aired in years, and it plays the emotional card with real control.

The first of the Paramount+ exclusive events jumps forty years into a future where the pandemic finally ended, everyone got older, meaner, and sadder, and the boys stopped speaking to each other. Stan sells insurance, Kyle is a lonely counselor, Cartman found God and spends his life rabbi cringe comedy, and Kenny became the scientist whose death pulls everyone back to South Park for one last attempt at fixing the world.

South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut

Trey Parker and Matt Stone took their crude paper cutout cartoon to the big screen and somehow made the funniest movie musical of the 90s. When the boys sneak into an R rated Canadian film and come home swearing like dockworkers, their mothers blame Canada, and the blame escalates into a full war, while Satan and a needy Saddam Hussein plot an apocalypse from below. The plot is a genuinely sharp musical about censorship, scapegoating, and parents who outsource blame, and the joke is that the filthiest movie of the year is the one making the most coherent argument.
