One for the true crime shelf: Netflix’s summer 2026 limited series digs into the case that haunted the Pacific Northwest, told with the docudrama polish the streamer does best. It arrived in July with little fanfare and quietly became one of the season’s most binged debuts.
The format is the familiar Netflix crime drama shape: a community living in fear, an investigation that keeps missing, and the human cost on both sides of the case. What lifts it is the restraint: no stylized serial killer glamour, just procedural tension and the slow grind of people trying to do right in a story that resists tidy endings.
Ten episodes, a complete story, no season two homework. Exactly what the genre demands when it is done well.
Our take: 7.5/10. A solid, respectful true crime drama that trusts the material.
