Cleveland’s answer to Friends, if Friends were set in a department store with a clownish middle manager and constant musical numbers. Drew Carey played a version of himself, a perpetually single Everyman surrounded by Mimi’s face paint, Oswald and Lewis’s beautiful idiocy, and some of the most ambitious stunt episodes network TV ever tried.
Live episodes, fully choreographed opening numbers, April Fools pranks that broke the fourth wall years before that was a flex. An underrated sitcom that deserves the rewatch it never got.
