The Boys Season 1
Season 1 Review
⚠ Spoiler alert Season notes below reveal how the story develops.
The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing.
Season Review
The debut season detonates the premise: Hughie’s girlfriend is vaporized by A-Train, and the pursuit of Vought and Homelander builds a corporate conspiracy thriller with the most jaw dropping shock value on TV. Antony Starr’s Homelander is instantly one of TV’s great villains, a smiling void, and Karl Urban’s Butcher grounds the chaos in real grief.
