Summary
Out in the open sea, Ubbe and the settlers are at the mercy of the elements. Tension mounts between Ubbe and Othere and when baby Ragnar begins to weaken, it’s the final straw for Ubbe. Meanwhile, Ivar and Hvitserk return to Kattegat.
Our Take
The Ubbe storyline finally gets room to breathe, and the stranded-settlers material has a genuine tension that the Kattegat scenes can’t match. Ivar and Hvitserk’s homecoming mostly sets up future conflict rather than delivering anything on its own. It’s a slow, moody hour that works better as atmosphere than as plot, but the desperation at sea makes it worth sitting through.
