Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Prince Igor receives a hero’s welcome in Novgorod but back in Kiev the mood is darker: Prince Oleg will not be giving up the fight. Meanwhile, Ubbe’s settlers are overjoyed to find land, but it’s not the Golden Land they expected.
Our Take
A slower, transitional hour that splits its time between Igor’s political tightening in Rus and Ubbe’s settlers facing a harsher reality than they bargained for. The Novgorod material carries most of the weight, while the settlement scenes look gorgeous but move at a crawl. Worth watching for the shifting power dynamics, just don’t expect much forward motion until the final stretch.
