Summary
An unexpected turn amongst the settlers leaves Floki powerless. King Alfred confronts Judith. In York, Bjorn must strike a deal with Harald. Wessex is once again threatened by a Viking force, but who will lead the Saxon army to defend the Realm?
Our Take
A slow-burn setup hour that mostly works because of Floki, whose crisis of faith finally gets the payoff it deserves after weeks of wandering around Iceland. The York politics drag a bit and Bjorn’s negotiations feel like treading water. Still, the tension in Wessex builds nicely toward what’s coming. Worth watching, even if it’s clearly the calm before a bigger storm.
