Summary
Tensions mount between the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok as the Vikings continue to threaten the very heart of England. As the Great Army moves to take York, with King Aethelwulf and his family still in hiding, Heahmund, the warrior bishop, must rally the Saxons to defend the Realm.
Our Take
A solid season opener that mostly sets the table instead of delivering a full meal. The rivalry between Ragnar’s sons simmers nicely, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers makes an entertaining entrance as the bloodthirsty bishop, but the pacing drags whenever the focus shifts elsewhere. Worth a watch if you’re already invested, though it feels more like setup than a standout hour on its own.
