Summary
The Vikings call Ragnar’s leadership into question. Ragnar himself remains inscrutable and orders the fleet to beach at a cliff face where he unveils an ingenious plan. Rollo and Gisla have news that strengthens Rollo’s position at the French Court.
Our Take
This is a slow-burn hour that mostly works because Travis Fimmel keeps you guessing about what Ragnar is actually planning. The portage sequence delivers a satisfying payoff for the episode’s buildup, though the French court material with Rollo and Gisla drags by comparison. Worth watching for the ending alone, even if the middle stretches thin.
