Episode Summary & Review
Summary
King Horik presents a surprising proposition to Ragnar; Athelstan becomes confidant to King Ecbert.
Our Take
A slower, talkier hour that mostly works because the political maneuvering is genuinely interesting. Horik’s scheming gives Ragnar’s side of things some tension, while Athelstan’s scenes with Ecbert are quietly the best part of the episode. Not much action, and it shows, but the character work carries it. Worth your time if you’re invested in the power games.
