Summary
When Nightshade’s feeling isolated from the rest of the Malto family, they find a new connection in the most unlikely of places.
Our Take
A quiet, surprisingly touching half hour that gives Nightshade the focus they’ve been waiting for, and the show is better for it. The unlikely friendship at the center feels genuine rather than contrived, and the writing handles loneliness without getting preachy. Easily one of the season’s strongest episodes so far, worth making time for even if the kids’ plots usually aren’t your thing.
