Summary
The lads attempt to answer one of the world’s great unanswered questions – is it possible to build a truly amphibious car that works as well on water as it is does on land? Also, actor Philip Glenister is the Star in the Reasonably Priced Car and the Lotus Exige S is power tested by on the track by Jeremy and the Stig.
Our Take
This is Top Gear at its silliest and best, with the amphibious car challenge delivering exactly the kind of cheerful engineering failure the show does well. Jeremy’s Toybota sinking is genuinely funny, and the chemistry carries the whole hour. The Glenister interview is fine but skippable. Worth it just to watch them nearly drown.
