Summary
As the White Lotus welcomes their newest guests, tensions quickly arise between the hotel staff and the volatile vacationers.
Our Take
A slow burn of an opener that mostly works because of the cast. Jennifer Coolidge wandering around in grief and Connie Britton’s passive-aggressive family dynamics carry the hour, though some of the guest introductions feel like sketches waiting for something to happen. The satire is sharper than the drama early on. Worth checking in, but don’t expect fireworks yet.
